There are a number of great ingredients to use when formulating skincare, but these five oils, butters and extracts top our list of absolute favorite ingredients.
Neem Oil
Neem oil has antibacterial properties, making it a great ingredient in acne products. Well and Good says that it’s been shown to be successful at fighting acne in the long term as well.

Jojoba Oil
Jojoba oil is one of our favorite oils to work with because it has tons of great skincare benefits. An article in Shape, explains that jojoba oil is ideal for all skin types since it doesn’t clog pores or cause acne. "The wonderful thing about jojoba oil is that it balances the oil in the skin, rather than adding oil to it," explains Jennifer T. Haley, M.D., a dermatologist practicing in Scottsdale, AZ and Park City, UT. "It adds moisture where it's needed, but can also help reduce excess oil production.”
Additionally, jojoba oil is full of vitamins A, D and E, plus antioxidants and fatty acids, according to the website Byrdie, and is able to penetrate deeply into skin since it mimics our natural sebum.
