Our best-selling Oh Baby! Anti-Stretch Belly Butter is a fave among pregnant and postpartum women, but it’s good for so much more than just warding off stretch marks.
Granted, stretch marks can happen regardless of whether or not you’ve been pregnant and to anyone—young, old, male or female. (Ultimately, genetics play a big part in determining your predisposition.) Growth spurts and fluctuations in weight can cause stretch marks to appear on the hips, stomach, thighs, bum or breasts. Using an effective moisturizer helps the skin to stretch and remain supple while it grows and stretches.
The Oh Baby! Belly Butter contains organic shea butter, organic mango butter and organic cocoa butter, which act as emollients to soften and soothe the skin. They also create a light barrier to help keep vitamins and fatty acids on the skin. In addition, organic shea butter helps to firm connective tissue, and organic mango butter works to protect skin.
The butter is packed with other good-for-you ingredients like rosehip fruit oil, sea buckthorn berry oil, lavender oil and more. According to Dr.NYC-based cosmetic dermatologist Shereene Idris, M.D. in an article on Cosmopolitan.com, “Rosehip and lavender oils arepacked with fatty acids that further help strengthen your skin.”
Our formula doesn’t contain any synthetic fragrance, only the aromas of the organic oils used, especially the light scent of organic sweet orange oil.
But you don’t have to be pregnant or a new mom to enjoy the Belly Butter! This rich, indulgent formula is also GREAT this time of year because it works to lock in moisture on areas that are often neglected, like elbows, knees and hands.
Scoop a small amount out of the tub and into your hand and warm it up between your fingers to melt the oils (they tend to be solid at room temperature—especially during the winter.) Once you have a smooth, velvety consistency, smooth the butter over any areas that are in need of some TLC.
If your face is especially dry or you have some fine lines and wrinkles that need a little attention, the Belly Butter is great for that, too. Apply lightly to areas that you’re needing to add extra hydration. (FYI, sometimes wrinkles are caused by lack of hydration in the skin. It needs to be plumped up and “filled out” with a nice moisturizer to make wrinkles less visible.)
Another star ingredient is organic calendula-infused oil, which regenerates torn tissue. According to WellnessMama.com, calendula oil can “help with wound healing by stimulating tissue and collagen production.” Bonus—the beautiful, orangey color of calendula flowers helps recreate that same golden hue in our Belly Butter!
But really, don’t take our word for it. Here’s what a happy customer says:I love Mambino and I am not pregnant! This belly butter is ultra moisturizing. It's like an oil that doesn't stain your clothes. I use it around my eyes, breasts, lips, and bum and anywhere else that needs ultra-hydration or is prone to stretch marks. It has a citrus-orange scent that is not overpowering. Just very clean scent and the scent doesn't linger. I generally apply this at night (around my face) or after my shower during the day and it makes my skin feel silky soft. I used to feel dry and itchy at night with regular creams—but not this.
